Well, The Darke Toad came out for download on Amazon last week, which was great. Really nice to see it out there, and Mark’s cover pic is wonderful.
I’ve been writingwritingwriting, so haven’t had much time to come onto the blog at the moment. It might be a bit quiet here for the next couple of months until I have finished TodHunter Moon… but I will check in when I can!

So, back to the laptop and chapter 32. Still a few more to go yet…
Happy Birthday Jen and Sep!!
And wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas or MidWInter Feast Day, whichever you celebrate.
Hey, it’s December already! So, I am about to send The Darke Toad hopping back across the Atlantic for the last time. Soon (February I think) you’ll be able to Download The Toad.
And TodHunter Moon is coming along too, which is why I’ve been a bit quiet lately. It’s writing time again! You can also find me on FaceBook and I am accepting Sep Fans as friends…
http://www.facebook.com/angie.sage.77 see you there too?
Hey, it’s nearly winter now. How did that happen? So along with the cold and the rain and all the leaves falling, The Darke Toad edit has been and gone now and TodHunter Moon is on its way! I’m up to chapter 14 now and getting to know Tod and Oscar. It has been really nice meeting Nicko and Snorri again too…
But no more clues! There is still along way to go – I think I’ll stick to the Sep tradition of 49 chapters – and I am getting excited about what is going to happen.
It’s back to the last few pages of the Fyre proofs now and then I can get back to writing TodHunter Moon. It is really exciting to be back writing new things after a lot of revising and checking.
And, spurred on by Katherine (my lovely editor) I have got serious about Facebook and now go to my page EVERY DAY (if not more often.) I wasn’t a fan of Facebook before; compared with the lovely Twitter it seemed so complicated. But I am being won over. It is actually fun! So please come and see me there – http://www.facebook.com/angie.sage.77
I am going to be at the Cheltenham Literature festival this Sunday! That’s October 14th at 2.45. I will be at the studio. Do not worry if you can’t find me in the programme – I will be there -really I will!
HarperCollins have just given me a contract to write the trilogy that will follow on from Septimus. We will begin 7 years after Fyre so all kinds of questions about what has happened to everyone will be answered.
The trilogy will be called TodHunter Moon and will begin with 3 new characters: Alice TodHunter Moon, Oscar Sarn and his twin sister, Ferdie Sarn. I am really looking forward to exploring more of the world of Septimus in these books – we will discover lots more places and will even find out more about that elusive Princess from the Eastern Snow Plains.
So, I am writing fast now – although first I have to finish looking at the proofs for FYRE…
The proofs for FYRE have arrived! It’s a big, big packet of paper… I now need to read through everything again and check check check it all makes sense and is as good as it can be. The pages are now typeset as they will be in the book and Mark’s beautiful illustrations are in place too.
So, it’s back to Sep & co for me tomorrow…
Well, THE DARKE TOAD has gone off to my editor and now I shall be going off to Annie in Cornwall for a week or so now. I will be back online the day before I go to Edinburgh for their amazing book festival. And I really hope I will see some of you there. I will be talking about Darke – and Spitfyre at 4.30 on Sunday 26th August.
Until then you can find me on twitter: @AngieSageAuthor. I do like Twitter – fun and simple!
Have a great summer…
Sunshine all the way… it’s great!
I have very nearly finished The Darke Toad now, just one more chapter to go. Then I am going to get back to writing the third chapter of what I hope will be the new trilogy and send it off to my editor. And hope she likes it!
Hope you are all having a really great summer… and winter in Oz and NZ of course.
