Septimus Heap
Septimus Heap is a series of seven books (five published to date) featuring a protagonist of the same name. The series follows the adventures of Septimus Heap who, as a seventh son of a seventh son, has magical powers. After he becomes the apprentice of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard, Marcia Overstrand, he starts his studies for seven years and a day to become an Ordinary Wizard (or maybe an ExtraOrdinary?).
His adventures take place in a fictional world full of secrets and mysteries, a world where rats are messengers and can speak, a world where spells are common and where the dark forces are trying to penetrate. MAGYK, FLYTE, PHYSIK, QUESTE, SYREN and soon-to-be-published DARKE are telling his and his friends’ adeventures in this magykal world.
The books are published in the United States by Katherine Tegen Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, in Canada by HarperCollins Canada, and in the United Kingdom by Bloomsbury Publishing.
The illustrations are realized by the amazing Mark Zug, who also worked on the companion book of the series, THE MAGYKAL PAPERS.
The seventh son of the seventh son, aptly named Septimus Heap, is stolen the night he is born by a midwife who pronounces him dead. That same night, the baby’s father, Silas Heap, comes across a bundle in the snow containing a new born girl with violet eyes. The Heaps take this helpless newborn into their home, name her Jenna, and raise her as their own. But who is this myster ious baby girl, and what really happened to their beloved son Septimus?
The first book in this enthralling new series by Angie Sage leads readers on a fantastic journey filled with quirky characters and magykal charms, potions, and spells. magyk is an original story of lost and rediscovered identities, rich with humor and heart.
It’s been a year since septimus heap discovered his real family and true calling to be a wizard. As Apprentice to Extra Ordinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand, he is learning the fine arts of Conjurations, Charms, and other Magyk, while Jenna is adapting to life as the Princess and enjoying the freedom of the Castle.
But there is something sinister at work. Marcia is constantly trailed by a menacing Darke Shadow, and Septimus’s brother Simon seems bent on a revenge no one understands. Why is the Darke Magyk still lingering?Bringing fantasy to new heights, Angie Sage continues the journey of Septimus Heap with her trademark humor and all of the clever details readers have come to love.
When Silas Heap unSeals a forgotten room in the Palace, he releases the ghost of a Queen who lived five hundred years earlier. Queen Etheldredda is as awful in death as she was in life, and she’s still up to no good. Her diabolical plan to give herself everlasting life requires Jenna’s compliance, Septimus’s disappearance, and the talents of her son, Marcellus Pye, a famous Alchemist and Physician. And if Queen Etheldredda’s plot involves Jenna and Septimus, then it will surely involve Nicko, Alther Mella, Marcia Overstrand, Beetle, Stanley, Sarah, Silas, Spit Fyre, Aunt Zelda, and all of the other wacky, wonderful characters that made MAGYK and FLYTE so memorable.
With heart-stopping action and a dash of humor, Angie Sage continues the fantastical journey of Septimus Heap.
There’s trouble at the Castle, and it’s all because Merrin Meredith has returned with Darke plans for Septimus. More trouble awaits Septimus and Jenna in the form of Tertius Fume, the ghost of the very first Chief Hermetic Scribe, who is determined to send Septimus on a deadly Queste. But Septimus and Jenna have other plans—they are headed for the mysterious House of Foryx, a place where all Time meets and the place where they fervently hope they will be able to find Nicko and Snorri, who were trapped back in time in PHYSIK. But how will Septimus escape the Queste?
QUESTE, like all the books in the Septimus Heap series, is filled with nonstop action, humor, and fantastical adventure as Septimus continues his journey of Magykal self-discovery.
In this fifth book in the Magykal series, Septimus ends up on a captivatingly beautiful island, one of seven set in a sparkling sea. He’s stranded there with his badly injured dragon, Spit Fyre, along with Jenna and Beetle. There are some strange things about the island, including a Magykal girl named Syrah, a cat-shaped lighthouse that has lost its Light, and an eerie presence that sings to Septimus—can he escape the persistent call?
Trouble is also brewing for Lucy and Wolf Boy, who have become entangled with some nefarious sailors at sea, and for Milo Banda, Jenna’s father, who is harboring a mysterious treasure chest in his ship’s hold.
Charismatic storyteller Angie Sage continues Septimus Heap’s Magykal journey with more laugh-out-loud adventures, more enchanting charms and spells, and an ever-deepening understanding of the interior life of a young hero.
In the Darkely fantastic penultimate book of this internationally bestselling series, Septimus and his friends find themselves attempting the impossible as Septimus begins his initiation into Darke Week.
Septimus is on the threshold of his fourteenth birthday, which falls on the shortest day of the year. While everyone celebrates and the Castle is lit with traditional candles, Septimus has greater concerns on his mind. He has finally reached the period in his Apprenticeship known as Darke Week. During this crucial time, he hopes to undertake the very dangerous mission of restoring Alther from Banishment, following the attempted invasion of the Castle of Syren. But while this preoccupies him, other Darke things are afoot in the Castle.

I Would Say that anyone and everyone should read this book! It has captivated my entire life. I have read many books and in doing so have discovered that this book is probrably one of the best books ever written even exceeding the ahrry potter books! This Book makes you want to jump inside and live there in the magykal surroundings!
I want to say thank you to you Angie for filling my life with enjoyment after my life took a rather painful turn. And that Angie is why you are my hero and I am, forever greatful to you.

February 24, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Angie, I’m very excited for this move…HOWEVER if turns out like the Series of Unfortunate Events or Percy Jackson and The Olympians movie (which COMPLETELY messed up the plot… missing several characters and scenes)turned out… I don’t know how I would handle it. These books are amazing and if they did something minor like Aunt Zelda’s character not having blue eyes… it wouldn’t matter to me. But if they mess with this plot and maim this movie like some others I’ve seen…!!! So do you know if it will mostly be based on the book? And when I say mostly I mean MOSTLY.
September 7, 2010 at 12:53 am
Yup. I’m gonna cry if this turns into one of those butchered movies that totally revert from the storyline and ruin everything. Like they did with Percy Jackson, or The Last Airbender, for instance. PLEASE MS. SAGE OH PLEASE WILL YOU PREVENT THEM FROM BUTCHERING YOUR WONDERFUL SERIES!!!??? I would love to have it in the epic awesomeness of the Disney rennassaince… or however you spell it. What I mean is, if the movie could have the grand splendor of movies such as The Lion King and Aladdin, I would literally build a shrine to Septimus. Yes, it’s true. I would. I heard this would be an animated film, so, obviously, I’m very excited. Which is why i typed this much. Ahem…I’m going to leave now.
September 19, 2010 at 4:04 am
This will sound weird but….can you make Septimus eat waffles somewhere in a future book? It would definitely make my day.
September 19, 2010 at 4:13 am
I hate twilight, inkheart and harry potter are okay, and the series of unfortunate events are awesome. but all the same i totally agree.
April 3, 2010 at 10:50 pm
the film of a series of unfortunate events was ruined by the film i hope it doesn’t happen with magyk
July 19, 2010 at 7:11 am
I hate Twilight too. Septimus is SO much better. (conceited scoff) Haha kidding. But literary wise, Septimus exceeds all limits.
September 19, 2010 at 4:06 am
VERY VERY MUCH RUINED WAS UNFORTUNATE EVENTS SADNESS
Okay that was weird
September 27, 2010 at 1:58 pm

April 12, 2012 at 1:07 pm

May 9, 2012 at 4:27 pm

June 20, 2010 at 4:35 pm
Wait there are 13 series of The Series of unfortunate events? Cause I’m a big fan of those books and there are only 5 of them in Slovenia.
May 14, 2011 at 10:07 am
Yes, there are 13 books in that series.
May 15, 2011 at 7:31 am
No way. Sep is the best!
August 30, 2011 at 9:38 pm

May 9, 2012 at 4:35 pm
THere are 4 Twilight books and 3 Inkheart and 13 ASUE. Don’t diss.
September 27, 2010 at 2:03 pm
For the first time I am the person who read them before the movie came out…like with Twilight I read after everything came out and it was famous
February 25, 2010 at 3:51 am
I have two favorite series of books I love which is Septimus Heap and A Series Of Unfortunate Events. But I like Sep alot. I almost started crying because I can imagine thing that happen in books in my mind so in Syren when Syrah said that Spit Fyre was dying it broke my heart. Beetle is surely gonna get enough courage to tell Jenna how he feels about her that would be great. Love the books !!!!!!!!!!!! Contact me please!!!!!!!

August 2, 2010 at 7:15 am
yeah, and it can be like that 4th books in the Tally Youngblood series, when it said at the start “To all the people who informed me of the secret defenition of the word trilogy” or something like that. LOL.
September 27, 2010 at 2:06 pm
Septimus Heap is THE BEST series. EVER. In my list of favorite book series, it’s very close to Warriors, but considering how I feel that Warriors is going a bit down hill after the end of bk #18, Sunrise, I’d have to say I like Septimus heap better. I’m so glad I found out about them. It started when a friend of mine was reading Magyk, and told me a bit about them. later, I didn’t have anything to read so I picked up a copy at my school’s library. Instantly I couldn’t put it down, and right after I finished I called my dad from school just to have him pick up a copy of Flyte at the bookstore(the library’s copy was checked out). I finished them faster then my friend and she hasn’t even read syren yet. I absolutely can’t wait for Darke.
So, my question is: Is there anything you can tell us about Darke? Anything?
May 30, 2010 at 2:37 pm
starting septimus heap was the same thing for me.just finding the third book at school libraray and could not put it down
April 12, 2012 at 1:12 pm
Ummm Miss Sage? Hi. I’m not going to lie to you. You probably expect me to say that I’m your biggest fan, but I’m not. (I know people are more dedicated to the series than me) All I can say is that your books are my favorites. I want to know: What is going to be the title for the 7th book?
Looking forward to knowing you more,
HatakeKnight (Tito) (I’m from Puerto Rico)
May 31, 2010 at 2:11 am

July 8, 2010 at 12:55 pm
i really hope they pick the perfect person to play him-hopefully someone really cute and someone who is a good actor and most importantly not just some stuck up famous person the same goes for Jenna except i hope they choose me!!!!! (very unlikely
oh well there is always hope!) and i hope they don’t choose someone for sep who will turn out like Daniel Radcliff did…

July 23, 2010 at 12:00 pm
he’s hideous!!!!!!! eeeewwwww
he’s the guy who played harry potter
July 23, 2010 at 12:05 pm
Danial Radcliff was horrible for the part of Harry, but in the first two movies I thought his performance was great.
July 23, 2010 at 9:39 pm
I have to agree the movies just got worst from there.

I LOVE SEPTIMUS HEAP!!!!!!
August 21, 2010 at 5:12 am
Dear Ms. Sage,
I’m one of your many adult fans, and I’ve just finished re-reading books 1-4 and savoring Syren for the first time. I wondered, since you live in Cornwall, if you are fond of Winston Graham’s Poldark novels? Seeing two of your characters named “Demelza” and “Morwenna” made me smile, since those are two important characters in the Poldark series–I wondered if it was a gentle homage? Please keep up the good work with Septimus Heap. My only complaint is that seven books is NOT ENOUGH! Only two left??? I am so enjoying them, I wish there were going to be more…If it must be a magykal number, how about 49 books instead of 7?
August 22, 2010 at 5:29 am
Hi Demelza,
you probably won’t see this as the reply is so late – I have only just discovered this section! Duh…
I haven’t read Poldark, but Morwenna and Demelza are such Cornish names (and my car is called Demelza too…) that i had to use them.
SO glad you like Sep such a lot. not sure that i could manage 49 books tho…
February 9, 2011 at 5:13 am
Oh thanks for the reply! Well, if you haven’t read the Poldark novels, then you are in for a big treat some day. (Historical fiction, set in the late 1700s-early 1800s.)
I loved Darke, especially since Simon is handily my favorite character. I was so surprised by how conclusively it ended; I was expecting a cliffhanger ending, and was so pleased that you didn’t give us one. Now I am truly mystified as to the possible themes and content of the final book…and still wishing it could go on indefinitely.
May I also add that I love your postscripts and additional notes about the minor characters; they are such fun!
January 17, 2012 at 5:29 am
Such great books i’m so sad though I finished all of them in 2 months and now I have nothing to read *sigh* but still, yay yay, yay. I’m sooooooooooooooooooooo Excited for the next ones. Great work Angie hope I can meet you one day
August 22, 2010 at 7:20 am
septimus heap is my favourite book series ever!!!! can’t wait for the film. if angie sage reads this, don’t stop making them! my life depends on it.
August 23, 2010 at 10:41 am
I think Septimus Heap was my first ever fantasy book, and thats what got me into it. Ever since I read the first one (About 5 or 4 years ago) its been tucked away in my mind and heart, and I’ve always remembered it. Once Flyte came out, I remember thinking “Ohh that book!” and getting it immediately. Or, as soon as I could. It was really funny, cause I hung around with a guy named harry, who looks like harry potter, and I have curly blond hair and green eyes, so I look like Sep, or the brothers, so we were like the wizards in town. I’m really excited for Darke to come out, I hope its good like the others have been. I’m pretty excited for the movie, too.
Keep up the good work!
~Elizabeth
August 27, 2010 at 2:55 am
SEPTIMUS HEAP ROCKS!!!!
August 27, 2010 at 3:01 am
septimus heap is totally better than harry potter mainly because sep is more unique and it deals more about family and friends than romance and violence and stuff you know. which is a good thing because any age kid can read this book
August 27, 2010 at 6:32 pm
i really agree with you :>
March 25, 2011 at 3:37 pm
The same scenario (sort of) that happened to Lucy, happened to me (Lucy above that POSTED).
I love Warriors. But the book kind of became repetitive, and started going downhill after a while. Boring, so to speak.
I read the Septimus Heap Series up to Queste (Syren had not come out yet), and then I got bored.
BUT, I picked it up again, and read Syren, hearing there was going to be a movie. And I have decided that Septimus Heap is now my OFS (official favorite series). Sorry, I like abbreviations.
I read Magyk so much after hearing there was going to be a movie, that I almost know it by heart. It’s kind of weird. I read it approximately 30 times. The other books, maybe about 15-20.
August 28, 2010 at 1:45 pm
r u like in a different time zone because as i am writing this the time here is 11:32 and it is august 28. and i live in the U.S.
August 28, 2010 at 3:32 pm

Thanks for the great stories

ohhhh that would be awesome!!
September 11, 2010 at 4:22 pm
i cant wait for darker
September 13, 2010 at 4:48 am
It’s kind of irrelevant, but I don’t feel hate for Simon or Merrin. I mean, ok Simon is just soooo jealus of Septimus and that’s why he did all that stuff. Imagine someone taking away all you ‘ve been dreaming of all your life… It can drive you crazy.
And just consider all that Merrin has been through. He was raised by DomDaniel, never really had a mother, almost everyone calls him stupid… All that anger… How can a child live with this? I sometimes feel sorry for Merrin…
I think I can understand them in some way.
P.S. I know that this sounds a little melodramatic but…
September 16, 2010 at 2:33 pm
I totally agree1 Simon was jealous, nuff said.
And Sep DID steal Merrin’s name! Merrin was called Septimus for 10 years.
September 27, 2010 at 2:11 pm
i agree i also feel kinda bad for merrin and i am quite fond of Simon
November 19, 2011 at 3:10 pm

I wonder if Septimus will learn any Darke Magyk because in Magyk he learned Magyk and if Flyte he learned how to fly and in Physik he learned about physiks.Sorry if I made any grammatical mistakes but I come from Romania and I read the books in romanian language so I am trying to translate the romanian words in english.
November 13, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Wow your english is so good where did you learn!!
February 18, 2011 at 11:41 pm

November 21, 2010 at 10:18 pm
I’ve read Magyk about 7 times, I’ve read Flyte, Physik, and Queste about 4 times each, and I’m reading Syren for the 3rd time right now. I love your books, Ms. Sage. They make me happy. Period. The end. Goodbye.
(I’m also excited for the movie, just thought I’d say, but I hope they [whoever 'they' are] don’t mess it up.)
November 24, 2010 at 11:01 pm
Wow… Thanks!

February 18, 2011 at 11:38 pm
Hi people of the internet I LOVE THE BOOKS!!!!!!!!! Just a quick question how many of you think Syrah should be Septimus’s girlfriend.
February 8, 2011 at 1:01 am
i think they’re a perfect match :>
but to be honest there’s a part of me that would really want Septimus to end up with Jenna :<
March 25, 2011 at 3:32 pm
NO ! Jen ends up with Beetle .
Though I must say I also thought Jen/Sep would be great . But it’s kind of unfair for Beetle . We all know that he likes Jen a lot and it’ll be sad if she did end up with Sep – Beetle’s best friend .
May 2, 2011 at 7:14 am
I have read all five books and love them all!!! Can’t wait for the sixth… It makes me sad to think that there will only be 7 books of Septimus Heap…
February 22, 2011 at 2:01 am
why only 7??????????
ok I know why but still its sad
March 2, 2011 at 2:24 am

February 28, 2011 at 9:54 am
Hello, Angie Sage! :’)
( This is so cool. 8—-) )
Umm… I love your books, I love Septimus Heap… and I’ve read all of the books five times… now I begin to read them again.
(THATS because here we have MAGYK only in paperpack, and there isn’t any pictures).

You saved my boring days when you wrote these books.
I’m thinking in my mind the scenes, and I was surprised when I saw for the first time Jenna and Septimus, and the others pictures… they looked just as I thought they would!
My little sister also likes the books. I read MAGYK to her one night, and she wants to read it herself now. Unfortunately, my friends just go somewhere, even if I say something that begins with the letter S, and if the next is E… I’m sad about it… :’< (someday I think that they are like Dursley's from Harry Potter…) Weeelll, maybe it's because I've talked to them about it soooo much… mayde they can put the blame on me…?
BUT I'm sooooo excited about the movie! I reeaaallllyyyy hope that Warner. Bros. succeeds… I believe that they will.. (hope so!) I do NOT forgive them if they ruin this movie somahow!
Hmm… it's really fantastic to be able to chat with the author… fortunately I found this web page.
I wish you good luck for the last book and good coming spring, everything else good – and make the Warner types work quickly!
PS. I'm sooo sorry! I'm finnish and my english is something horrible! Hope that you understand even parts of the text…
kiitos! (thanks)
March 8, 2011 at 5:12 pm
ur english is great i wouldnt have even guessed that ur finnish
August 15, 2011 at 4:27 pm
i love your books so much and i cant wait until the 6th book comes out (i live in the u.s.) but i was wondering about the dragon boat because in book 4 it said that jenna hid the boat inside to cave thing (sorry its kinda been a while since i read the books) to keep the townspeople from destroying her and then it doesnt say anything about her in the next books so i was kinda wondering if she will be mentioned in the 6th book
March 20, 2011 at 10:02 pm
is there going to be an 8th book? or a 9th? or a 10th?
i really hope Septimus Heap’s series would never end ? :<
March 25, 2011 at 3:30 pm
we’re gonna miss Septimus, Jenna and the other Characters :
March 25, 2011 at 3:57 pm
OMG! I love the Septimus Heap is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s, what’s book 7 titled?
April 4, 2011 at 5:09 pm

April 9, 2011 at 12:23 pm
That’s the sixth one, the last one hasn’t got a name yet
April 9, 2011 at 4:27 pm
i love these books. they are my favorite series. i would recommend them to everyone. I cant wait for the book darke to come out. i am counting down the days. i was playing on septimusheap.com for the sweepstake but it expired. Angie u r my fav author and i cant wait to see how darke turns out!!!!!
April 9, 2011 at 12:19 pm
i think you should do the sweepstakes again that would be awesome. i love playing the games they are so creative and fun. the sweepstakes would defintatly get alot of hits.
April 9, 2011 at 12:21 pm
My life now revolves around septimus heap!!! seriously, i mean that! very best book series ever to enter existance!!! (sorry for spelling errors)
April 25, 2011 at 5:41 pm
Maybe septimusheap.com would’ve been better if the places couldn’t be visited all at once . Like when you reach to a certain level or when you’ve found everything in the Castle, you can move on to the Marram Marshes . It would’ve been more fun that way – well, for me at least .
And I don’t understand how I can get eligible entries in the Syren Treasure Sweepstakes . Help ?
By the way, I LOVE YOUR THE SEP HEAP SERIES !! So much .
I really wish they were all real . I could be Jenna . It doesn’t matter if I end up as Queen for I have a very intelligent Beetle by my side . ^^ Or I could just be an Ordinary Wizard or maybe the EOW ! Ha-ha !
LOVE SEP HEAP SERIES forever …………….
May 2, 2011 at 7:23 am
Play the games, and you will earn points.
June 3, 2011 at 10:37 pm
I love you the sep heap series * Ha-ha ! Typo ! .
May 2, 2011 at 7:25 am
Dear Angie
Does people in the Septimuses world have any games in sports like we have olympic or some dragon racing games or wizard ones?
And you have mentioned that they have tenis.Do they have any other sports too?
May 6, 2011 at 1:23 pm
Ms. Sage – My 11 year old son chose you as his favored authour for his 5th grade project. To date he has not received any communication from the Harper Collins address or from the address of your former publisher, Scholastic Incorporated. I am writing to ask if you would consider contacting him by whatever means may be convenient for you. His report is due Monday, May 9, 2011, and I would like to be able to forward you a copy. I am sure you get significant amounts of fan mail, and would be happy to forward this to your assistant or personal communicator if you would prefer.
Please consider this honest and serious request. He is both an illustrator and writer and has found you and your work to be inspiring. I will be expeditious in providing you with whatever contact information you would like for our family. Thank you for your consideration, Paulette Foster-Galbraith, MD, DABFM
May 8, 2011 at 4:42 pm
Did I miss something in Syren? Because I don’t remember Alther being banished. Does that mean he gets banished in Darke?
May 13, 2011 at 9:42 pm
Yes, he gets banished in Darke. Read the prologue of the sixth book. It is here: http://septimusheap.wordpress.com/2011/01/29/septimus-heap-6-darke-%e2%80%93-the-prologue/
May 14, 2011 at 8:04 am
althers banished?
May 31, 2011 at 10:32 pm
I really like the series, and it was such a shock that they had the fan site. I really like the idea of it and I like the books. I really can’t wait for the newest book to come out.
May 15, 2011 at 6:52 pm
I wonder what the 7th book would be called?
May 15, 2011 at 7:08 pm
Angie will you please come to the united states and come to or near Montana my cousin Megan and i i would love it if you did a book signing that would be so sweet and you are the best!!!!!
May 15, 2011 at 9:47 pm
Dear Angie,
This is the most wonderful book series I have ever read. I absolutely love the books. I hope they make movies out of them.
Helen
P.S. I hope you write another wonderful book.
May 29, 2011 at 8:48 pm
I luv ur books ive seen them a lot and since i was waiting for micheal scotts new book i picked this up and i read 1-5 in 2 weeks.
May 31, 2011 at 10:29 pm
I love your books! The two books I have been waiting for are your new book and Michael Scott’s new book. If you make them into a movie, PLEASE don’t change the plot too much. The story is perfect the way it is.
June 3, 2011 at 3:05 pm
Hey Angie, you know Petroc, Jenna’s pet rock, I remember her loosing him or something, will he come back?-cause he was cool
June 5, 2011 at 2:16 pm
I have to ask. I’ve been reading the Harry Potter series for the past 13 years (or more give or take), and I’ve started reading the Septimus Heap series, and I’m still on book 4. How many times do I have to read all of Septimus Heap books in order to understand Septimus Heap’s world?
June 20, 2011 at 2:36 am
I bought Darke the day it came out and I finished it in about four hours! It was amazing! I’m a VERY picky reader and if I aren’t interested in the first twenty pages I drop the book. But when I first read Magyk I knew that I wouldn’t ever drop any of the Sep Heap books. All of my friends think I’m crazy (which I probably am!
) but I just can’t stop talking about it! Darke was the best one yet! DARKE IS MY LIGHT!
P.S. To all the ppl who think that Sep and Syrah should end up together, there’s one problem: Sep is 14 and Syrah is 521 so that’s a HUGE age difference. Just wanted to point that out.
June 26, 2011 at 3:53 pm
yeah but syrah is still like partly 19… oh yeah 19 and seps like 14 lol sry
August 15, 2011 at 4:21 pm
Dear Ms.Sage,
Thank you for writing the BEST BOOKS EVER! I have read many books and septimus heap was the best by far. I have read all the books including darke and the magykal papers.
Your BIGGEST fan,
Abbie
June 28, 2011 at 1:37 am
Dear Ms.Sage,
Thank you for writing the most wonderful books in the world! How could you be so creative? I have read all the books, including Darke and The Magykal Papers. I have always wanted to be an author and you have inspired me sooo much. Septimus Heap has changed my life.
Your BIGGEST fan,
Abbie
June 29, 2011 at 4:15 pm
Septimus heap is the best series ever written.I have got all the books and I have read each book about ten times.
July 1, 2011 at 6:25 pm
hi im sydney. im ten and i just finished book three (physik) and OMIGOSH IM SCREAMING BEACAUSE NICKO AND SNORRI ARE SO CUTE. but the closest place to get the book is seven hours away T_T
July 4, 2011 at 10:43 pm
I love these books and Have read them since the beginning (buying the first one the day it came out on a whim) but I can’t understand how everyone is saying that they are better books than harry potter? For one, HP had an over-arching plot that had EXTENSIVE foreshadowing and depth from book one. The SH series is Fantastic, well written, fun, and entertaining, but it does not trump HP in terms of being better, or more well written. Both are good, but HP simply has more depth and a stronger plot line, not to mention characters that feel more real (though that may be possible because it takes place in the modern world, and in England and not a fictional England) Still, Angie, I love your work, I hope you keep Warner Brothers in line so that they don’t murder your work, but I wanted my opinion out there
July 9, 2011 at 5:54 am
harry potter may have a stronger plot line, (although not so much) but it’s just sooo dark. no, not a pun. i mean septimus heap’s 6th book is called darke, and still it isnt just like plain evil. do u get what im saying? if not sry.
August 15, 2011 at 4:25 pm
I just finished syren for the second time and omg I forgot how much I LOVE that book. I LOVE SYRAH SYARA
July 14, 2011 at 3:39 am
I completely agree on your take of Harry potter I couldnt have described it better myself… Finally someone who can expaned there magical reading.
I think Angies books are wonderful but HP is a more miture read. I was starting to get tired of previous insults towards HP
So thanx
But Angie ur books are amazing!
I havent got around to buying Dark yet but I can’t wate to read it!
July 20, 2011 at 3:30 pm
If you love HP soooooo much that you say it on A Septimus Heap BLOG that HP is better, even though anybody who has a brain knows that SH is waay better. There is no happy go lucky in SH where as in HP its all HAPPY GO LUCKY. If I had to bet who’d win in a Magyk contest Sep would win all to easy. Why’d you write a Sep slam on a Sep site, I do not know! If you re-read all the books in both seires at least 6 times you would see how Sep is better. And Im NOT saying this because Angie Sage might looking at this, ITS THE TRUTH IN MY HEART!!!!!!!
December 15, 2011 at 7:38 pm
Wow – thank you, Windy!
January 27, 2012 at 2:48 pm
With a Septimus Heap movie lighting up the rumor mill, we all desperately hope Ms Angie has as firm a grip on Sep as Ms Rowling had on Harry, because we would absolutely hate to see the movie industry do to Magyk what they did to poor Paolini’s Eragon, Oh Please Ms Angie don’t let the movie capitalists butcher your great books with a crappy movie!!
July 22, 2011 at 9:59 pm
Im 12 and have almost finished Darke this is one of the best series I’ve ever read! I wish I could write books as good as you but I’m not very good at coming up with good ides!
Thanks!!
July 27, 2011 at 6:17 pm
Thank you!
Ideas aren’t easy … but it gets better as you get older.
January 27, 2012 at 2:48 pm
I’m an adult reader of the SH books and just wanted to let Angie know how much I love them; it’s not just kids who are huge fans, though I’m sure she knows this. I fully agree with the above writer about movies that don’t do the book justice. How will a movie ever be able to capture the wonderful internal dialogue of characters such as Maxie and Spitfyre that really make the books so wonderful? Can’t wait for the seventh book and any possible spin-offs; hopefully there will be one about Lucy Gringe and Wolfboy!
August 13, 2011 at 5:30 pm
Thank you, Rachel! I do have lots of plans for spin-off books, but first I have to finish FYRE…
January 27, 2012 at 2:46 pm
I’m one of your older readers and I love the septimus heap books, they are my favourite books and I can’t wait for book 7 to come out, but I don’t want the series to end either,
so I hope you write loads of spin of books and possibly a spin off series about Jenna learning to become a witch or something!?
Keep up the good work
Jay x x
March 15, 2012 at 7:08 pm

August 15, 2011 at 4:19 pm
oh and im soooooooooo curious about the 7th book! kmp me on that!
August 15, 2011 at 4:26 pm
sry i keep posting but does anyone else think that jenna and beetle ar really cute together?
August 15, 2011 at 4:32 pm
LET ME GUESS, YOU LIVE IN THE UK AND WANT TO READ DARKE, RIGHT? BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT DOESN’T COME OUT UNTIL OCTOBER HERE. LET ME HELP!
Even though you can’t pop into the local bookstore and get your hands on a Darke they are still available over the internet! I got my hands on my copy via amazon, so, if you reall can’t wait- order online!

December 27, 2011 at 5:35 pm
Angie Sage, I love your books so much. I have stayed up late many times reading your septimus heap books. I even chose to do an author study on you for school. I think this website is awesome . PS why did you stop making septimus heap books! Besides 7 being the magikal number and all I mean.
January 5, 2012 at 8:06 pm
I’m so excited about Fyre! Will something finally happen with Jenna and Beetle?
February 2, 2012 at 2:23 am
it better….it would make me happy….
March 13, 2012 at 3:32 pm
And, Speedreader, besides the “Begin with Magyk, end with Fyre?” That was so clever!
February 2, 2012 at 2:25 am
I read 1-6, and Magykal Papers in a month. Now it’s all over for a while.
February 2, 2012 at 2:27 am
I love Septimus Heap books. Yesterday I was thinking about how sad and miserable I would be when the series stops!…Ms. Angie Sage, don’t get any ideas. It is such an honor to be able to read these books…I refuse to believe that that they are all fictional characters! I can’t wait til’ Fyre comes out, cause of a habit that I hate myself for…reading too fast! Ugh, I say to myself, please tell me you didn’t read that all today! Also, because I fell in love with Magyk one day looking for a new library book in the library with my class, soon I became obsessed with your Septimus Heap books. I wish I could just keep on writing this but I seem to have written all that I have to type to you…lots to say to you though! Anyways, it would be an honor to have you reply to this!!! P.S: Im 12 and I love your books. P.S.S: Love your books!!! P.S.S.S: Please email me!!!
Love,
Shelley Fang
February 21, 2012 at 2:23 am

April 12, 2012 at 1:17 pm
The Septimus Heap books can be read over and over again and you can never get tired of them. They are the best books you can read and I hope when you finish the series you write something like it.
March 12, 2012 at 1:54 am
angie? could you put a character named O.beetle beetle in fyre?? i would love that
March 13, 2012 at 3:30 pm
I love Septimus Heap so much. I’ve been trying to get all my friends reading it and my cousin has read some too. Angie Sage, you are AMAZING! You describe the world that they are in like you live there yourself and are with them the whole time. I wish all the time that I can live in their world and go on adventures with them. I hope that one day I can go to one of your book sinings and actualy see you in person.
From Marina Amaris
P.S: Sorry if I spelt anything wrong, I really need to work on it!
March 13, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Hey Mrs. Sage! I heard about number 7; Fyre, and i was sooooo pyched! Can u tell me the plot of it?
March 15, 2012 at 7:39 pm
This book was magical, enchanting, and action-packed. I enjoyed it as much as i liked Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The author [Angie Sage] does an excellent job combining humor, adventure, action, and darkness in one book.
March 16, 2012 at 4:18 am
i think that there is a love square in the castle. i will explain all.
Beetle>Jenna>Septimus>Syrah
now i know that sep and Jenna are brother and sister but i remind you that they are adopted brother and sister. But there not even proper adopted brother and sister because they didn’t grow up together and they are more like friends. I know that you may think that im mad but read darke and look at what Jenna says to beetle about sep and you will understand. thank you. And i cannot wait for fyre
March 19, 2012 at 11:39 pm

March 25, 2012 at 2:14 am
I love the septimus heap series. They are sooo much better than the percy jackson or harry potter series. I own and have read all of the septimus heap books. When is the 7th book gonna come out?
March 25, 2012 at 2:16 am
Angie,
I also suggest the series to anyone looking for a good read.
You are an amazing writer. From the moment I began reading Magyc,I was captivated by your writing style. You include so much detail that I felt like I was in the world. The storyline also enchanted me and I had an extremely hard time putting the books down. One unique thing that I loved was the extra information at the end of the books, either explaining what happened to certain characters in the past or continuing their story in the future.
I`m looking forward to reading the seventh book, and perhaps I`ll reread the previous books again
As an aspiring writer myself, you are a major inspiration to me. Whenever I read this series I always want to grab a pen and write with one hand while still reading the book in the other
March 27, 2012 at 12:34 am

April 19, 2012 at 9:52 pm
Harry Potter is as awesome as S.H and God Knows about The rest of the books……….
But the thing is that I hate Twilight and the Fan’s of Twilight too….
Hey,Angie Sage
Can you potray the characters of the Movie JUST the way they are pictured in the Book…..
Coz I know it’s hard to find people EXACTLY like the characters but Still……

that she is scolded by the Teachers EVERY-DAY……………..
Can’t get it out of my Brain…..
Where as I’m enjoying “Darke”…..:D
Whabout’ the Movie……………
It’s been more than a year since i’ve heared that the movie is comming……

Since you are the closest person to the Director,Can you tell him to keep ALL the charecter’s eye colour as it was mentioned in the book….

I hated the first book at first. Just frown it to the end of my book shelf and forgot about it for about 2 years. This september I read it, only in a week. I just loved it. At the end of the week I went to the shop and bought the next 3 books. Just finished syren few days ago. It’s brilliant! I love the way it’s very orginal and diffrent from other series.
But I would never compare it to Harry Potter, please, they are completly diffrent. It’s just foolish. Both series are amasing.
Can’t say I’m looking forward for the movie, after I’ve seen the Harry Potter example. “Fans” of the actors and popularity just ruin the whole series, I didn’t read Harry Potter until this summer because of that. But the music in films is wonderful.
Just hope Septimus Heap won’t fail. Waiting for Fyre to come out!
Good Luck!
